Welcome to Tufts University School of Medicine!

We are excited to have you join our community of outstanding clinicians, researchers, educators and academicians! Below are some helpful links and resources to get you started as a TUSM faculty member.

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) serves as a resource to help faculty advance their academic careers through teaching, research, service, and clinical care.

  • As a Tufts Faculty member, your Tufts Account will be used for access to resources, benefits, and e-mail. It's important to set up your account so that you can take advantage of all the benefits offered by Tufts University and receive important communications from the Medical School.

    E-mail

    Tufts Faculty are eligible for a Tufts University e-mail account. The type of e-mail account you receive will depend on your employment status with Tufts University. Tufts Clinical Faculty (those based at one of our affiliated hospitals/institutions) are eligible for a Tufts e-mail alias, which is an "@tufts.edu" e-mail address that forwards to an e-mail box of your choice (such as a hospital e-mail account or personal Gmail or Yahoo account). 

    You will have received instructions for setting up your account in your appointment confirmation letter, however, you can also view instructions and information about setting up your forwarding e-mail here: How to Activate Your Account

    Tufts Username

    In addition to the e-mail address (or alias), Tufts Faculty will receive a Tufts Username (also referred to as a UTLN). Your Tufts Username grants you access to many of the online resources such as the Hirsch Health Sciences Library. You should have set up your username and password when you first became faculty.   • The Office of Faculty Affairs offers an annual New Faculty Orientation that gives new faculty an opportunity to learn about the appointment and promotion process at TUSM, and meet leaders from TUSM offices and programs. Highlights include:

    • An overview of the Medical School curriculum and Faculty Development Resources
    • Information about the variety of graduate programs offered at TUSM and ways to get involved
    • An overview of opportunities for teaching, mentoring and service in one of the TUSM Global Programs offered through the Office of Multicultural Affairs
    • Information about the Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), including:
      • Ways to connect with other researchers
      • Training and educational opportunities
      • Assistance with research design and analysis
      • Clinical trial support
      • Pilot grants

  • Tufts University School of Medicine is pleased to offer a variety of benefits to both University-employed faculty and affiliated faculty.
