Welcome to the Department of Neuroscience! Our department is home to research programs relevant for understanding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's as well as behavioral disorders including stress/depression, epilepsy and insomnias. We are a collegial and welcoming group of faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff that is committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within an antiracist environment.

Our Research

Our faculty lead eleven research groups focused on applying genetics and basic approaches to understand important neurological diseases. We are particularly interested in interactions between neurons and glial cells.

Our department has an active program for training postdoctoral scholars as well as PhD students.
